Letter from NTL re: software problem

Hello. I got a letter from NTL in the post yesterday. It was basically was an apology from NTL saying that i may have noticed some problems with my TV service recently, and that it was due to a software problem. It said their engineers were looking into it and were working quickly towards a resolution.

But i have no idea what problem they are talking about! Anyone know? I'm in Finchley, North London area.

Thanks.

Question Re: Letter from NTL re: software problem

Me thinks ex Videotron / CWC customers like me are going to have a few more problems around the 13th Sept 2005. Is that when they (ntl) roll out VOD somewhere local like Bromley?? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Letter from NTL re: software problem

Maybe the letter from NTL was about the problem that some people were reporting where channels were changing on their own and resetting to Channel 7 during the night, or something along those lines. There was a long thread here about it here and also one over at the Shack... didn't pay much attention to it as I'm no longer with NTL for telly.

Re: Letter from NTL re: software problem

I have had the box resetting to Channel 7 for about a month. The first post on this I saw was 13th Aug, but there may be earlier ones. For most of this time NTL have been saying it's a software problem that they are working quickly to resolve. Does anyone have any idea if these are just weasel words which don't really mean anything, or are NTL making any progress towards identifying/fixing the problem? Sky must be delighted at the prospect of disgruntled NTL customers signing up with them.

Re: Letter from NTL re: software problem

i have had this bug for about a month as well ,but if you put E4 you get about 10 secons of tv then the STB gos blank, then you turn on E4+1 it all works then turn back to E4 it will work .now that is just odd .
