Upgrade Wirral area

Just had letter/booklet from NTL, saying in the next month (September) I am getting upgraded for the digital tv side, my question is this, does this mean the fabled VOD has come northwards?
I'm in Birkenhead.
It mentions On Demand, but not Video On Demand, so curious if this is what I'm getting, rang customer services, who simply replied "wait for the on screen message".

Re: Upgrade Wirral area

No, the upgrade you are getting is the long awaited upgrade that the Bromley platform needed

VOD software will be another software upgrade later on

Sorry to hear that, I had to have my first Pace STB replaced, now got Samsung STB, now picture and interactive OK.
The other thing I had to have done, as I'm in Hamilton Square, was a replacement cable fitted, as the engineers said that due to the services I'm on, the existing cable was too thin to carry the capacity, true enough, when it was replaced, all was OK with the Samsung STB.

See how it goes after this Bromley software upgrade

Nice to hear from you

Any chance you'll return to NTL one day?

Everything seems OK this side of Birkenhead now, even my neighbours are rejoining what they used to call NTHell, but now, everyone seems happy

Got home and surprise surprise, no letter. Only bills. Never informed about anything EVER!

Just do it NTL and I'll assume when it's done. Useless mofo's.

Re: Upgrade Wirral area

It's the 8th today, According to Cable Forum news, we are supposed to get NTL's new free 11 extra channels, so, I fire up STB (Silver Samsung) and there is NO sign of these new 11 channels

Has anyone in my area (Birkenhead) been upgraded to recieve these yet?

Has anyone got them anywhere yet?

Any info on what's going to happen?

Sorry about PM Bill C, your reply crossed over as I was writing it

There is no sign either of the upgrade to channel listings either yet.
