Low sound

Hi All

I have a problem after having my Telewest box installed yesterday, basically when I watch anything on L3 or play back anything I've recorded to my DVD player the sound is really low so have to crank it all the way up just to get any volume.

I checked all cables and wonder if I have missed something obvious, all the kit is Sony other than the Telewest box.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Not quite sure what you mean Need a bit of clarification of your setup...

Is your DVD player connected to your STB via scart, then the STB connected to the TV by Scart?

If not, how is it all connected?

Also, does the STB have a volume control? If so, is this at max?

Re: Low sound

Yeah, STB to DVD Recorder and STB to TV - have been a bit confused by it all as I have been playing with it for ages and getting hacked off.

Not sure about volume on STB but will check it, is this on the box itself?

Re: Low sound

I'm not 100% sure how it works on Telewest tbh, is it a PACE stb? If it is, then i think the right and left buttons adjust the volume...

If it is similar to ntl, then there should be a volume control on the remote- if there is, does this control the TV volume or the STB volume?

Re: Low sound

The STB remote control's the TV volume, so if you are watching on normal terrestrial TV it's ok, on AV STB it's lower at the same setting and through L3 inc recordings it's so low you have to turn it right up.

Re: Low sound

Try going to the interactive home page, settings & info, audio and display, (or something like that). There should be a audio level setting in there.

Can you lower the STB volume to match the DVD recorder playback and then raise the volume on the TV?
