Running Hot on Standby

I have my V+ on a drawer shelf in a unit and boy does it run hot.. even when in Standby and not recording anything - the top of the unit is toasty! Sometimes even too hot to touch.. anyone else noticed similar? It worries me how much energy this thing is using..

Re: Running Hot on Standby

I checked the standard box ages ago and found it drew the same power on or off.

Not too hot though.

Re: Running Hot on Standby

There not supposed to be enclosed. So if your unit has a door it shouldn't be in there

Re: Running Hot on Standby

As jb says. Also make sure there is plenty of room at the sides (where it draws air in) and at the back (where the fan blows it out).
