Time to cycle through TV remote codes

Hi all,

After having a TiVo box fitted downstairs my V+hd has been moved to the bedroom, unfortunatly there is no code listed on the remote setup page for my TV make (cello 2310f) - I have the black remote with the black logo

The option for scanning all possible codes is activated by using code 0010 and press OK. Then hold standby while it cycles through the codes. The instructions state this may take "some minutes" does anyone have any idea how long this is.

I gave after 8 mins but now im thinking i should have tried for longer, any ideas how long a full scan should take. Or if the remote give any indication when its finished?
