No. You'd be unlucky if you'd had a bad experience. No reason to suspect yours wasn't "the norm."
Or, to put it another way...

Re: So Long Tivo - Back to Sky - Close but no cigar!
I've just bailed on TiVo too, the 75% off Sky World offer in combination with VM's seeming inability to capitalise on TiVo's potential pushed me over the edge.
TiVo could be awesome but the choice of Flash for a UI has probably set them back years, it seems even with both CPU cores enabled it just can't get past sauntering pace.
The UI's structure is also still extremely silly in places with a multitude of clicks and confirmations required to carry out simple tasks, this far after launch this really shouldn't be the case.
These issues almost certainly boil down the TiVo Inc. themselves with developers working slowly and VM not having as much clout in the relationship as they should. I wish them the best with it and it was an interesting experiment but overall, I was underwhelmed.
I will definitely miss 3 tuners and Wishlists but the addition of the Sky Movies package, SkyGo on the 360 upstairs, AnyTime+ and the £16 /month reduction in my services bill mean I won't be losing any sleep over it.
Virgin have at least shown why competition is so important because Sky seem to be planning a lot in the OnDemand and "portable device app" fields which I don't think they would be so keen on if Virgin hadn't gone there first (but I have to slate Virgin at this point for their shambolic strategy so far with the iPad app - boo!)
Anyway, short version: interesting experiment but bored now. Development too slow, could do better, might have another look in a year.

Agreed, it really seemed like it could be something special when launched but we were left with a sluggish long winded mess!

I didn't realise it had been enabled? Must of missed that..

Agreed, clumsy UI and it takes forever for them to rollout updates, I will probably look at it again in a couple of years, assuming sky don't produce something decent....

that's pretty much why I cancelled with them , although our problems were mainly with playing HD OD content between 7-10pm , we also had bad contention on our BB rendering it unusable at certain times , shame really it was excellent when we first got it.

Re: So Long Tivo - Back to Sky - Close but no cigar!
Can we now transfer this thread to the SKY section? "As I have come back to SKY"

I think having critical threads on tivo is a good thing. Nothing is perfect and its good for people to point out the things that bug them about tivo. Otherwise, there could be accusations of this being a Tivo fan boy forum.

Interesting to know why people are bailing out. However if it frightens you ...

I never get frightened, but this is one topic that seems to be way off course or it is just me

I think it's an un-written rule on forums. The longer a thread gets the more chance it'll go OT
