Unhappy V+ very slow to respond after midnight

I can tell when it is midnight, at midnight on the dot, since I started noticing, my V+ box will respond very slowly. e.g If I was fast forwarding a video, when I press stop, it will take it may be 20 seconds to stop, by that time I'll be way out of position. If I change channel, the screen will go blank for may be 10 seconds before the screen comes back.

This slowness will continue for a few minutes more (may be 5) than everything will be back to normal. I tried rebooting the box when it goes slow, but because it takes the box a good 5 minutes to boot up anyway, by the time everything is started up, it is normal because its way past the 5 minutes mark.

Does it happen to any of you people? Do you think VM is doing its update at midnight?

Re: V+ very slow to respond after midnight

It happens to everyone with a V+ as its when the EPG is updated

Don't expect VM to resolve the issue as its been like that since day one.

Re: V+ very slow to respond after midnight

Slowness and the occasional automatic reboot around midnight are normal. Rebooting every night at this time does however imply issues with the box.

Re: V+ very slow to respond after midnight

I always found it odd they chose 12 midnight for this (but finally got rid of V+ and glad to see it go)

Plenty of people using at at midnight, surely 3-4am would have been a better choice.

Been that way since 2006.

I stop watching my V+ Box just before midnight and start watching Freeview.
