VM Tivo Issues

First of all, i apologise if these questions has been asked before,i just want some quick answers before the weekend ends

Hi guys

Ive had my Tivo installed since Xmas and im getting annoyed with some of the picture quality and some channels with audio out of sync

All the channels = Channel 5 / +1 /USA etc all have what can be described as bad Pixelation where you can see the pixels like when you watch streaming online if you get me?

I read somewhere the Channel 5 progs with bad pixelation is a problem with the broadcaster which is currently being fixed, not sure if this is true?

Also tonight SKY Living Loves channel is showing Pixelation with the CSI programs,On Demand sometimes has this problem

Also ITV1 HD is always out of sync and a couple other channels are out of sync sometimes, apparently the ITV1 HD out of sync is a national problem, not sure if this is true

I was previously with SKY for 2 years and didnt have any of these issues with these channels

I have a engineer coming round Tuesday, but i know how VM work and never admit to having any problems,i read loads of reports with ppl having the same issues im having as well

What im wondering are these problems that common at present with these channels?, be interested to hear from other Tivo users here and if they are having these problems lately with there Tivo boxes

Edit: What i have noticed is when the 2 Tivo Boxes where installed the engineer ran the connection from my BB connection which is up stairs,so he used a splitter box to connect to the BB connection and then run the cable into the bedroom where another splitter box was added to then run a cable downstairs to the front room, not sure if having splitter boxes make a difference?

Re: VM Tivo Issues

Channel 5 and ITV are know issues with the broadcasters - do a search online for Sky also.

You shouldn't be having problems with Sky Living Loves or your On Demand, so an engineer should be able to rectify that problem, poss poor signal quality.

Channel 5 have crammed too many channels on to their transponder on satellite (since 5+1 launched on satellite) and this is causing picture issues - 5 HD is ok though.

ITV HD have confirmed to customers that they are aware of the sound sync issues.

How did you get an engineer? Did the call centre say there was a signal issue

On the forums,i refuse to ring up VM CS and speak to foreign call centre staff who cant understand you.

And without sounding arrogant,i dont need CS to tell me there is/isnt a problem,im fairly savy with TVs/gadgets/PCs etc,i know i have issues either with the box, my internal cabling or the Green Box outside.

As mentioned i had no issues at all when i had SKY 2 months back which i had for 2 yrs,im starting to regret swapping over.

Re: VM Tivo Issues

I know I couldn't fix any of those issues, sounds like normal service at the moment.

on demand does pixelate sometimes. Channel5 etc have issues and itv has been out of sync for ages.

Re: VM Tivo Issues

All those issues aren't fixable by a tech, there faults deeper in the network, that's why I wondered what the forums seen that was faulty to send a tech

I have the above problems 5 USA and 5* are really, really bad and seriously detracts from the shows I watch on those channels. Channel 5 ought to be fined (if that's possible) for this; it's that bad.

The channels in the 5 group are the same on all providers since they added the +1 channel and possibly others.

Some work was done last week that should have improved it somewhat. They do have a plan to fix it completely, but I don't know when.
