Reboot - software boot
Anyone see this ever on their settings log? wondered if it's normal.
Had a reboot unknown before.

Re: Reboot - software boot
That's normal. It's due to overnight engineering work in your region.

I kind of thought that, however I was told if it recurred like it did this morning I was to report it to Virgin Media, supposedly the mods on the community forum aren't too sure about it.

It looked like I had according to the community forum as they asked me to report it again. and because of that I wanted to know more about those log settings.

Ah, ok.. personally I wouldn't worry about the event logs unless it disrupts your tv service

I've just found your posts over there. You didn't originally post the times these were happening, so the staff probably thought you had a random rebooting box.
Basically any reboot between 3am and 7am is likely to be intentional.

Actually it has happened 3 times, one of these occurred around 14:20 in the afternoon, re-boot unknown I think it said.

Re: Reboot - software boot
Had another software reboot around the same time again this morning, I take it I would have had interrupted viewing if I had been watching the TV at that time?
Curious why so many software re-boots.
It's all very well saying if you have no fault then no worries, but surely if I had been recording a programme at that time it would have been ruined.

I tend to agree, over the last 3 weeks my box's have rebooted themselfs in the morning at about the same time (6:30ish) but our V+ has rebooted in the evening as well (during corrie) Mrs wasn't too pleased, Daybreak and corrie are 2 out of 3 programmes she regulary watches.

Have you reported it? they now want to send out a technician, one minute they say it's normal, next minute they are sending out an engineer, not too sure what he will do but I have asked if there is maintenance going on in my area.

Have you said this in your post on the Support Forum? Having read it, you only mention the ones in the early hours.
The Support guys aren't going to be aware of any routine platform maintenance TBH, so they will be booking a tech as you are complaining about a fault.

You're right, on the OP all I mentioned was the descriptions and not the times, this was the occasion when it occurred in the afternoon.
Like I have said to them over there, if the issue happens while I am watching the TV then I will let them know about it.
