New Tivo Box

I have a new Tivo box and Virgin installed the old box into a new room.

I have programmes on it though.

Is it possible for me to split the signal at the TIVO box and send the cable to the old V+ and the new Tivo?

Thanks

Not sure what your question is, sorry. Do you want to stream programmes from TiVo to the V+ box?

If you have one yes. Though it would be even easier to just swap the boxes around until you've watched all your recordings.

No. I have one outlet at the wall and I want to know if I can split the signal there and feed 2 Virgin Media boxes under the same TV.

Using one of the cable splitters off Ebay?

Yeah I understand that but I might split the signal and put a cable up into my daughters bedroom - then she can watch it up there and I will never see her LOL

Re: New Tivo Box

Tip for those who want to keep their V+ box in the same room as the Tivo for a whilst whilst they catch up with the backlog on the V+:

If only needing to get the V+ online for playback of old recordings you can just temporarily borrow the coax from the back of the Tivo. Once the V+ has booted, you can then take the coax out and put it back into your Tivo. Saves having to buy a splitter that you don't really need.

Re: New Tivo Box

Of course that only works if you've told Virgin you want to keep it so they have kept in enabled on the system

Re: New Tivo Box

Yeah I have done that but it is a pain. It is only a temp thing but the V+ box seems to miss not having the cable in the back!

What you done mention is that the remotes work both machines at the same time but they send different signals LOL

So switching channels on one will start recording on the other - what a mess :-)

This is an old box - the one I have in the other room is much better - If I empty it and ask nicely will they replace it will a more upto date one?
