Current TV on VM TV that is the question
Should we petition to save Current TV on Virgin Media TV?
Like many, I was slow to watch Current TV on a regular basis, only picking out the odd programme that caught my eye on the EPG. During the lull between summer and autumn seasons, where there were a lot of repeats of old episodes of my regular shows, I began watching Current TV a lot and became hooked on several compelling documentary series. However, soon these too began to repeat and my interest waned somewhat, although I think it's time to give it another look. You should too!

Re: Current TV on VM TV that is the question
Having not watched it to start with but as time went on and with some favourable opinions from certain Knowledgeby forum members l watched it more and more and l have to say there is some excellent stuff on there so l have voted that Virgin should keep it

Re: Current TV on VM TV that is the question
As a VM customer yes i think they should keep current TV,i have watched some compelling documentaries on the channel.
I feel there is enough general tat reality tv i do not myself view at all in with the subscription to keep people happy, why not something for the people that like a bit of programming they may learn something from.
I note people have voted to replace it with something else although no suggestions have been made so far!!
Do we really want a TV channel selection with less quality channels on it.?

Re: Current TV on VM TV that is the question
I don't think VM want to remove it... it is closing because Sky has removed subscription funding to it from March.

l think it is Sky who are once again discriminating in favour of the networks it owns and the points of view News Corporation agrees with." have a lot to do with this decision.

Sadly no petition will save the channel. From the various news reports it's clear they can't survive if SKY drop them.
Maybe Virgin could buy all of their content and offer it to us on an On Demand basis? That way we can continue to enjoy their whole back catalogue of documentaries, the legacy of the channel stays alive and Current TV get one last payday before shutting shop.

Yeah, and give me 10% for any commission
You know what bugs me, even though the channel launched almost 5 years ago, I only really discovered how good it was about 5 months back during their top 50 documentaries you must see season. I'm not suggesting it's my number 1 go to channel however at least once or twice a week TiVo does find content for me on Current TV. I will be sad to see it go, even if people view it as a niche channel.

It's programs are interesting, informative, educational and well-made which, unfortunately, makes it a niche channel these days

Re: Current TV on VM TV that is the question
Perhaps someone like Discovery or UKTV may buy the content, or they may wish to avoid considering the political slant of Current's owner.
I voted no. The channel is going anyway, so would rather have something else.
