Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

Does anyone know if there are any plans to include the Travel Channel currently on Sky 251 on the Virgin TV packages. We are particularly interested in Travel programmes and there is not a real one on Virgin at the Moment. We are stuck with Virgin until our contract runs out late in 2012 when I might consider switching to Sky where there seems to be far more choice of free channels.

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

Travel Channel was on Telewest before the NTL takeover.

Telewest axe it due to low viewing numbers.

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

Does anyone know who to E Mail at Virgin to ask the question or to try and get the Travel Channel reinstated, Surely the income from the Cruises adverts would pay for it. Not everybody's choice of what they would like to watch but I would certainly like to see it on Virgin. Thank you if someone could point me in the right direction.

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

Its my fault... When I had Satellite Travel channel was exclusive to cable, then it became available on Satellite for a short period before it reduced hours to just a couple a day... all the time available on Cable fulltime... Then I moved to a cable area and had Virgin installed. By this time Travel had dissappeared off Cable altogether and was now fulltime on Satellite... maybe I should go back to Sky..

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

As I can remember it was Analogue around here between 12pm and closing. At all other times it was Bloomberg. Many channels on Analogue Cable used to operate in that way, you had Performance channel which shared its slot with Cable London TV,Living which shared its space with Fashion TV,Carlton Food Network which shared its space with Carlton Select,Cartoon Network which shared its space with TNT Movies and then channel 39 eventually had Euronews,History Channel,Adult Channel,Playboy and Television X all on one channel.

It was on Telewest Digital for a short while but disappeared many years ago.

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

Surely Travel Channel TV is partially subsidised by the Cruise Companies and therefore the cost to Virgin Media would be negligable. I would dearly love to see it included of Virgin TV packages. There are some very interesting programmes shown on this channel together with some rubbishy ones which you don't have to watch.

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

I totally agree with the previous contributor that the Travel Television Channel should be shown on Virgin media. As previouisly stated it must partially be funded by the cruise Companies. It is available on Sky so why not Virgin. It may not be everybody's cup of tea but we thoroughly enjoy some of the programmes that are shown on this channel which we watch when we go round to our Aunt who has Sky.How do we persuade Virgin Media to include this channel

Re: Travel Channel;Sky 251 Will it be included on Virgin

Calling Richard Branson is that meant to be funny!!. Even when you contact Virgin Media Customer services they are evasive. The Travel channel is not going to cost Virgin too much as it is subsidised by the Cruise and Holiday companies who who probably welcome additional viewings.
