You would be better asking Sony than MB

@MB
Do you really think Sony would be stupid enough to launch Animax in the UK? I sure don't. Anime Central and CNX have both tried with some of the best Anime programmes and they could not make it work, so i doubt Sony would with mostly the same content.
A more likely option AXN, they have a lot of in house English language content and it is already available in a lot of European countries.
But at the end of the day it is still all speculation.

Anime Central own only on between 9pm to 6am and was not well publised, while CNX was aimed at 12-34 males and shows more than just Anime, but shows like The Shield
I think the new channels will be:
AXN
AXN+1
Animax
Animax+1

Point of view is from DS Forum.

It's a nice piece of speculation from the poster but I don't agree with the point they are making.
Just because Virgin have agreed a marketing deal with ITV on one of their biggest programmes by no means guarantees, or even suggests that ITV2HD, ITV3HD or ITV4HD are coming soon. As for it being embarrassing for Virgin.....why? The deal was agreed at a point when the channels where not on the Virgin platform so Virgin fully know what they are doing. I don't know of any company that enter into marketng deals that might potentially embarrass them.

I do think it would be embarrassing for virgin. Content they would spinster cannot be seen in hd on there platform, it would be usual bad negations if it don't appear

I think many channels have tried with Anime and it has just not been popular enough in the UK for Sony to take the risk. Syfy have tried many times, Rapture TV showed anime and as i said 2 channels both failed from different established broadcasters.
My personal opinion is Sony will keep movies4men (+1) and will add some of its own content to boost the channel. They have been showing movies on Sony TV such as Spiderman 3, Superbad, Secret Window which would fit nicely on M4M. The other channels will become AXN (+1)

What do you mean it would be their usual bad negotiations if it doesn't appear? The sales and marketing department at Virgin who agreed this sponsorship deal with ITV has nothing to do with the channel procurement team within Virgin. This sponsorship deal, and the lack of ITV HD channels on Virgin Media have nothing in common.
Maybe I'm made of tougher stuff, but people seem to be getting embarrassed a whole lot easier these days than they used to. I just don't understand how Virgin customers not being able to watch a programme in HD is a genuine reason for a multi million pound company to get embarrassed.
A company not being able to deliver the broadband speeds it advertises, that's embarrassing. For me that's the type of BS that is worthy of being called embarrassing.
