Ld Error Codes on Samsung VBox

Just a quick query. One of our STBs - one of the silver Samsung VBoxes - when rebooted, has started to cycle through some 'Ld' numbers and doesn't (usually) load up.

From what I can see, the highest Ld code it reaches is Ld:40 and then it starts the cycle again.

I expect this will require a call to faults - but just wanted to see if I could do anything to solve the problem.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Ld Error Codes on Samsung VBox

Don't know if it is related but on thursday during corrie, our V+ just went off and stuck on Ld:40 for ages when it tried to reboot then it moved on (we had to switch to freesat) must have been stuck on Ld:40 for about near 10 mins.

May be an issue with your viewing card. Give CS a call and they may be able fix this remotely.

Re: Ld Error Codes on Samsung VBox

Just an update: we rebooted the box again and after about 5 or 10 mins the channels loaded up no problem.

However, I was told this morning that there was some sort of green flash or flashing coming from inside the box probably around where the coax goes in. The box was unplugged until I could have a look at it.

When I plugged it in this morning, the red standby button lit up, but the box doesn't seem to do anything (even if I press it).

My conclusion is that it's a case of RIP Samsung SMT-2110c!!

I notice that VM still have the online £20 VHD upgrade on offer. Just wondered if I could do that and send the old box back without even ringing faults? Or is that bad?!

Thanks again!!

You can, or when the engineer comes to fix your box you can ask him to upsell you to a vhd and it will be £free, starts a new 12 month contract though

How many spare boxes do you take around with you, just incase of an upsell?

Well, I've put an order in (online) for the upgrade to the VHD box. Shall wait and see if it (the order) works. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan!

As I hadn't heard back from VM about the above order, I decided to contact faults - better to have the box fixed than sit and wait to see if the order would work!

Anyhow - think I totally baffled the poor girl in the call centre, but a visit by a tech was organised for Tuesday 10th January. (There must be a fair backlog from Christmas/New Year).

I've just received word from the Virgin Media Web Team that the upgrade to HD has been completed and an HD box will be sent on Monday.

Now I have a conundrum - do I cancel the tech visit as the HD box is on its way - or do I keep it?

Dilemmas, Dilemmas!!

Not really dilemma-you don't need the tech visit any more so you should cancel it.

Re: Ld Error Codes on Samsung VBox

Further to my last update re: HD Box being sent out "on Monday", I was just wondering how long it takes for the box to be delivered?

I would have thought that it would have been delivered by now!?

Re: Ld Error Codes on Samsung VBox

There was no tracking number on the email that I received from the Virgin Media Web Team on Thursday afternoon.

Assumed that it would just arrive.
