Advice pls: sound cutting out on V+ box GU area

I have a V+ box in the GU area, which has been fine for many years, but recently we have noticed sound cutting out. It has happened most often when playing Catch-Up TV On Demand: there is a short half-second gap in sound about once every two minutes.
Last night we also seemed to be getting sound break-up and pixellation on V+ recordings, specifically the Strictly Final, so you can imagine the ear-ache I got about that.

I had a quick look at my box settings:
SNR: 29.0dB
Pre RS Errors 0,0,9999 per 0.5s
Post RS Errors same as Pre
AGC Signal Level -4 dBmV

Unfortunately, it does seem to be intermittent, so I'm not too confident about being getting it fixed while talking to customer services or with an engineer present.

We have two V+ boxes, and we don't believe we get the problem on the other one, so that perhaps points to the box.

Any suggestions on other settings to look at or things to try?

Thanks

\Damn

Could be a fault on one of the tuners, but this needs to be interrogated by faults using Red Tools. SNR is ok, but 29 is the minimum acceptable level, so if it's fluctuating then that needs looking at.

Give faults a call and they will check it out for you. HTH

Re: Advice pls: sound cutting out on V+ box GU area

My mother has informed me that we had some sound problems and freezing on the Strictly Come Dancing finale last night. We have a V+ box in the B98 area.

SNR: 32.0dB
Pre RS Errors 0,9999,0 per 0.5s
Post RS Errors 0,9999,0 per 0.5s
AGC Signal Level -4 dBmV

I hardly use On Demand, however I watched a small part of MOTD2 today on it and the sound was fine.

You'll have to give the VM Faults team a call. The signal readings don't really mean much without knowing what the box was doing at the time.
