But whether we have that option with Virgin is another matter as Sky might not give them that option.

I think thats been known for sometime now,sky customers only have to have the HD pack to get F1 in HD,but thats the good thing about rights ownership you can use then as you want and clearly sky are.
Obviously sky bought the as a sucscription driver of sorts ie come to us for F1 and you will not even need the sports pack to see the F1.

And it could well work. A lot of F1 fans I know aren't interested in many or any other sports.
I'd like to see virgin match Sky, and include at least the SD F1 channel in XL. If that means dropping a few other channels or features then that would be fine with me. I don't watch ESPN for example.

Sky F1 will be on VM ready for the start of the season, but customers will have to have the sports channels to get it, likewise with Sky - only available if you have Sky Sports
A deal is being discussed and as soon as I know anything else - so will you.

If that ends up that you must take the Sky Sports pack in order to get F1 then Virgin can f**k right off.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
Agree. I'm not subscribing to a sports pack. And I wouldn't pay more than about £3 a month for a standalone channel, especially as half the races will be live on BBC anyway.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
I do t know if its relevant (I hope it is) but Martin Brundle posted on his twitter today that there is 2 excellent pieces of news to come regards SS F1 coming this week.
Hopefully it's good news about VM getting it but It may be nothing relevant to us vm customers.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
I really do hope VM negotiate a deal to carry the HD channel and that is one of the pieces news. I think I'm setting myself up for disappointment though.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
I don't care if it's HD or SD tbh. As soon as the lights go out its all about the race, not the clarity of the image!!

Oh well, no need for me to keep VM at all any more. I was keeping hold of it hoping that the F1 channel would be included seperately at a decent price, but £22.50 extra is too much. I'm out.
