Just playing around on the build your own bundle page and noticed that when you choose XL TV in the 'What You'll Pay' summary on the left hand side, ESPN is now listed under 'TV Extras'. Its still FOC, but have never noticed it there before - Maybe VM know something coming soon

Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City could be playing in front of the largest domestic television audience in the history of the Premier League next month when their home game against Fulham is made available unencrypted on the Freeview platform.

As part of a marketing exercise to broaden awareness of its programming, the broadcaster ESPN is showing the league leaders’ game against Martin Jol’s London side at the Etihad stadium free of charge in some 10m Freeview homes. The match will also be made available unencrypted to BSkyB, BT Vision and Top Up TV customers, meaning that it has a potential audience of 20m. The game will not be shown free to Virgin Media customers.

ESPN secures ATP and WTA tennis rights.

ESPN has secured UK and Ireland TV rights to tennis events featuring stars such as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro and Andy Murray, as it looks to expand its sports offering and draw in subscribers.

The Disney-owned broadcaster has snapped up a series of ATP World Tour 250 events for 2012, as well as three WTA international tournaments.

This follows ESPN's acquisition of various other sports rights, including live darts for the BDO World Professional Darts Championships and golf with the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Open tournaments.

ESPN's UK channel launched in 2009 after the broadcaster picked up the Premier League rights following the collapse of Setanta. The network still offers 23 Premier League games live each season, but also broadcasts European football, rugby union, cricket and other sports.

The new tennis coverage will see some of the biggest stars in the world compete on the ATP circuit for ranking points ahead of the Grand Slams.

From the website - £8 a month on TV M+ (£6 with Sky Sports) and "Includes ESPN, ESPN HD and ESPN America."

I keep seeing February 4th, when ESPN finishes, l trust that this is next year when the contract for free ESPN to XL customers ends before a further agreement with VM comes into force, can you clarify

This is a thread from earlier THIS year which has been bumped. Earlier this year ESPN was free for non xl TV customers for a limited period, which ended on 4 th Feb.
