BBC Red Button service on TiVo?

I'm getting TiVo installed today and found out that the red button service on BBC is not working.

Does anyone know if VM have plans to have the red button services included on TiVo and if so does anyone have an idea on when it will be included ????

Thanks
Joff

It should be coming later this year, But no firm date has been given yet? When you push the red button on any BBC channel at the moment it takes you to the BBC I-PLAYER App.

Re: BBC Red Button service on TiVo ???

It will be coming later this year. It is simply a case that TiVo has never had interactive services and the software needs to be coded and tested to make sure it all works.

I know I don't have TIVO, but another question with regards to the red button. Is there any way of accessing the additional program stream on TIVO like you can on freeview (i.e. channel 301), thus bypassing the red button for some sporting events?

Re: BBC Red Button service on TiVo ???

This is a Quote from a forum team member on the virginmedia help and support forum.

"The red button feature is currently not available on Tivo this is why you only get the Iplayer loading up when pressing the red button on BBC, however this currently being looked into and will be available on Tivo in the future along with red button on Sky channels but only for certain events."

So it looks like we are not getting full Sky red button on the TiVo.

Well l hope that is not the case as it would say we are getting less functionality then on the V plus.

You are reading too much in to Scotts post. He is talking about Sky Sports Red Button and the fact that not every event is currently carried.

Well if that is the case it would be a bit of a bad move as most people would rather have the V+ than the TiVo. So I think that would be a bad move when they have just launched a new flagship TV box.

Re: BBC Red Button service on TiVo ???

Red button on TiVo will be more App orientated, so will actually be better than the current Red Button offerings on our legacy boxes.

The wait should be worth it

I hope the BBCi interface is more similar to the Freeview interface on the TiVo box. Would be even better if you could access everything available on the full BBC website though I doubt they would be able to go that far
