Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
Maybe VM could have supplied the TiVo with a special power adapter with a built in Ethernet cable and a second one with the superhub, then they would have had a system which was future proof by using Ethernet over power line solutions!

However again you end up in a situation where you are locking a certain solution into the TiVo box.
I'm a fan of powerline, as I've got a couple myself, but it's still not solution for everyone, and until recently was expensive

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
I cant see how having an Ethernet port in a power adapter is locking in a solution, no one is saying that everyone would have to use that particular networking solution forever, but it would have been better than releasing the TiVo with no networking solution! Just seems a bit shortsighted for a company famed for its innovation, especially in the home broadband market!

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
I'm having problems with the BonjourVM.exe the only way I can get it working is to go in to the Tivo settings/Network/Change Network Settings then press Get Automatically from a DHCP server (typical) after doing this it all works fine but the next day when I boot up the pc BonjourVM.exe can't see the Tivo again until I go through the same process.
Is there something obvious I've not done when setting it up?

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
Download the app from the US iTunes AppStore and install on iPad, download snoops bonjour application on a pc or mac (this needs to run all the time or at least as long as you want to use the iPad app), extract and run the bonjour application. Load the app on you iPad. When prompted enter the MAK code from your TiVo (found on the TiVo in help & settings > system info > media access key). You should then have access to your TiVo!

Cheers.
OK done all that. Bonjour service sees the Tivo just fine. However when I run the app on the iPad it scans but does not find the Tivo.
Everthing on the same network. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
I honestly think this kind of home integration is the way of the future, the TiVo app is what everyone said homes of the future would be like 20 years ago, just need the TV manufacturers and other home appliance company's to catch up now!
