Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app

TiVo Inc. are aware of the problem and have posted this on the US App store:-

"We are aware of the crash in the app when launching the guide. A fix has been made and is pending Apple approval. Thank you for your patience."

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app

There's been some interesting statements!

Hi everyone,

We have indeed found the cause of the problem in the app when launching the guide. A fix has been made and will be made available as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience while we get this taken care.

Sorry for the grief.

Hi, we will be introducing reminders functionality to TiVo in our next phase code release. Will be able to provide more detail soon.

Unfortunately everything Virgin Media want is coded / written by TiVo inc USA and I fear that with so many irons in the fire. Virgin Media's priorities don't quite match those of TiVo inc USA.

For a start it's a completely different thing - it's a bug fix update to a program that's already deployed.

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app

I'm struggling with sn00ps vmbonjour.dmg for the mac, I've downloaded it but it's saying it wasn't made for my mac.

I have n intel a mac mini running 10.6.8

I would have thought my OSX would be fine..

Does anyone have any solutions?

Use the python scripts from earlier in the thread? A bit more involved, but worth the effort. It's possible to get those running on a NAS, apple TV, or other device so you can leave it running too.

You have to register a different eMail address for use on the US iTunes store.

Use an zip code like 90210 to do this.

As the TiVo app is free there is no problems not having a US credit card with US billing address.

In settings on your iPad under store click on your current email address listing and from the popup menu select logout. Then login on you use registered email address to the US Store

OK got round that by logging into US app store on the iPad and d/l the app.

Now I have it can someone tell me how I use it with the Tivo. When I run the app it first tries to scan network for Tivo, fails and then presents me with a sign up screen?

Thanks

For iMacs:

Quote:

For those with a mac, this is the mac version:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24518476/bon...c-binaries.dmg

For PCs

Here's some win32 binaries I compiled from the latest version:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24518476/bon...2-binaries.zip

Whatever computer type it has to be running these scripts for the app to find your TiVo.

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app

Do any of the VM insiders or those with VM contacts have anything to report regarding the development of the VM App? Is there progress? Any idea what the timescale for release is?

Ta!
