Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
Has anyone found that the iPad app has become very unstable in the last few days? Browsing the TV guide or the manage list just seems to kill the app? At first it was just doing it on one Tivo but now seems to be doing it on both.

no issues here, have you tried closing the app down completely so that you're not just restarting it as a background task?

Yes, mine has started crashing on the guide page, when you try and select date and time. The remote and keyboard page works okay though.

I've just had Sky+HD installed this morning but mine was completely stable once connected to the TiVo. I had encountered issues finding the box on a couple of occasions but once they're seeing each other it was rock solid.

Has this crashing only started in the past day or 2?

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
Its definately TiVo and not VM. The TiVo apps are crashing on the guide in the states as well.

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
My iPad app crashes too, the iPhone is stable though. So checked the US App Store to see if there were any issues!
Wow, the app's in need of serious updates. It has only a 2.5 star rating with over 50% only giving 1 star (before the crashes I would have given 4 stars). The ratings start with "WHYYY" and finished with "FIX IT".
So my guess is. It's not a problem local to the Virgin TiVo but TiVo inc in the US may be struggling, having spread themselves into eight countries. If they are doing to every country what they seem to be doing to Virgin (keeping total controll in house). Is it a wonder why it takes so, so long to get anything updated!
(I sadly don't hold out much hope for reminders, they've promised but not resolved for many years their SD and HD UI. I need something no matter how small just positive to fend off the lure of the darkside).

That's exactly how I felt a few weeks ago mate & I had Sky+HD installed this morning..... So much false hope and never ending promises. In the end the only thing they can deliver on time are price rises.

Re: Virgin Media TiVo iPad app
Yes same here. I have found a useful workaround though until TiVo get this sorted. I downloaded the tvguide.co.uk app for iPad and use it alongside the TiVo app - as a substitute for the TiVo app guide. It allows you to select your Virgin package and region and it will also recognise your TiVo box and allow you to change channels by pressing on the channel logo.
