3d sky sports on Virgin
I have searched around but cannot find an answer. Can you get 3D Sky Sports from Virgin. I called yesterday and they said yes and it would cost me £29.50 for Sky sports HD. I don't think the woman I spoke to actually understood what I was on about.

No, not a chance my friend.
It's reserved for their own top tier customers and no one else.

Re: 3d sky sports on Virgin
Thanks for replies. Shame really as I was offered a great deal with SKY. I have used the 3D previews of Virgin and they are very good. Shame some of them are for XL package only.

Re: 3d sky sports on Virgin
Lot's of people join but rarely post. I've seen it many times and thought it odd too.
Maybe he ain't as sad as us! Funnily enough the same happened on DS the other day with a member making his third or fourth post in years and it was a certain BenMcr which confused me, and it was the very same person but he was using his old logon in error rather than the usual BenMcr77 but he kindly replied to clear it up.
I am looking forward to seeing a Rugby League game in 3D. Still don't fancy 3D at home though yet, Click had a good feature on glasses free 3D this week, it seems many people have the same opinion as me regarding the glasses, they hate them.

Re: 3d sky sports on Virgin
Am I missing something, the 3D is only available to XL? Thought it was all PPV?

No there are a few shows included in XL in Movies OD though but they are free. Not much yet but a good start.
3D Sun
Dinosaurs Alive
Goat Story 3D
Mummies - Secrets of The Pharaohs
And there is indeed PPV 3D.

Cheers Mersey70. I'm not at home to check and don't really check that page as I don't have a 3D TV.

Re: 3d sky sports on Virgin
3DTV is still a very new tech and its for this reason there is not a lot of content around.
I don't think it will take off as its take HD a good few years to get where it is and its still growing. 3D will take a lot longer, mostly due to lack of content and cost of the 3Dtvs.

Yeah, I think it will be a niche product for a long time yet.

To be honest DF i think until they can get around the glasses issue a lot of people cannot get on with them, and the cost of the tv sets 3D may be years getting no further then a niche product not for the masses in general.
As for sky letting virgin have 3D sports forget it that is one niche product they will hang on to until their last breath.

Re: 3d sky sports on Virgin
Don't see them being able to get round the glasses issue for years. It can be 3D but the fun bit is when stuff pops out at ya and appears much closer. I watch it for movies though on me 3DTV, its awsome. Couldn't sit there all day though with them on. 2 hours at a time is fine though.

Re: 3d sky sports on Virgin
Thanks for all the response. I realise that the 3D channels are niche and I'm not suprised SKY are not realeasing these channels. Saying that as I said the previews and shorts on Virgin are actually very good. The PPV options are also pretty good, if a bit pricey! As for my registration date, normally if theres info I'm after I find it on here, I do read the site quite often, but never found reason to post. Since getting my new TV (Panasonic VT20 50in) A new amplifier and speakers I have had to read up on HDMI and god knows what. Just about got my head round it!
