I agree muppetman so long as i have access to all sky aports chasnnels for my £22.50 +Red Button i am well happy, just questioning in reality wether 3D TV really will take off this time after many false dawns.

Th OP asked wether sky sports 3D was on virgin and i very much doubt it will be this side of 2020 mate.

Yes thats a fair point Lew you could well be right is the picture quality on normal broadcasts the same as non 3D sets then?

If so people may well do as you have suggested.

Yes, on a passive set normal HD is the same as on any comparable HDTV.

Thats why i bought one. Would never have even considered it but was replacing the TV and the passive set i bought was about the same price as the none 3d version. Must admit i havent watched much 3D yet but some of the stuff ive seen is amazing but must of what ive it makes little difference. Im also sure it makes me feel nauseous too

Slightly off topic. Ive said this many times before but the issue here is that the content makers should not be allowed to be content providers. Regardless of the mechanism you receive your TV should be allowed to receive the same content. It would make so much more sense the break the two elements so that the content providers compete based upon delivery and the content makers compete based upon programs they sell.
