Question crack sound

I might be going mad as my signature, but has anybody else heard a crack sound coming from after an advert break mainly in the cricket on SKY Sports HD 1 & 2

It is just mildly annoying, I have a Samsung V+ HD stb, no surround sound just sound coming from the box to the TV (32 " Sony Bravia freeview HD) through HDMI, it must be a crazy broadcast issue?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, even it is to tell me i am going mad

Re: crack sound

Yes I get it also. I have the SA HD box

My sound comes via an amplifier, optical connection from SA box.

I've heard it too, SA V+ box direct to TV with no amp involved.

Re: crack sound

We get it sometimes on our plain SD box. Like a very brief whiplash? Just seems random.

Re: crack sound

I think it may have something to do with showing an SD picture (Ident, advert, sponsor) then cutting to a HD one as this happens on both Sky Sports HD and now Comedy Central HD. I think that both the Jaguar advert and the Comedy Central idents are in SD in comparison to the programming and this doesn't occur on other channels eg. BBC or ITV HD because their ident/advert before the program is HD.

I notice the crack sound consistently on the pro 40 cricket matches on sky sports HD, not sure what indent it has though

Re: crack sound

Just been doing a test on the cricket and the crack sound only comes on the HD version of sky sports

Interesting it seems to be the SKY Sports insert screen that is causing the noise, just seen an advert break without the insert screen on HD no problem with the crack sound

Re: crack sound

This also happens using a sky box as well so nothing wrong with V+ box it must be the transmission.
