I've got a 32 inch screen and I can see a major difference over normal SD channels.

All signed up and looking forward sports and movies in HD on current 32 inch Sammy. Treating the family to a huge 50 inch full HD plasma next month as we love sports and movies. Well done VM for getting Sky HD channels. It'll be great by the end of the year to also have Sky HD basics.

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
I've signed up. Can't wait. If I dont think its worth it, 30 days notice to cancel. Simple. But, if the picture is at least as good as Eurosport HD, I'll be happy, and also I have the Movies so I'll have 26 HD Channels to choose from on my EPG

People keep saying this, it's not really £3 cheaper, you're not comparing like with like.
On Sky you pay £10 for nearly 50 HD channels - on Virgin you get about 14 "free" on XL and then are being asked to pay £7 for another 12 of the Sky ones, and not even all of them.
So, basically you are paying £7 for 12 channels or, if you want to include the free ones, £7 for 26, as opposed to £10 for 50. It's even worse if you're not on XL - paying in total £17.50 on M and £23.00 on L (to have a V+ Box) for less channels than Sky viewers get for £10.....
I appreciate that the price has been more or less set by Sky and that they are hardly going to let Virgin undercut them for their own product, but really, can anyone say it's actually good value? I for one will not be signing up - as I only get sports, £7 for two channels in HD I already get in SD is something I can't justify, nice as it would be.

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
I've signed up for all available Sky HD channels on Virgin, already had Sky movies at reduced price through " loyalty discount" so extra for Sports and £ 7.00 for all in HD ain't too bad.
There is still a possibility of more HD channels filtering over from Sky later this year.
It's worth notimg that of those 50 HD channels on sky, Virgin has or hopefully will have the majority of the ones worth watching.
£ 25.00 to see the Pope in 3D, ( live) later this year puts all this debate into perspective, and I'm a Catholic.
Roll on August 2nd.

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
50" tv with gaming chair, so yes Ive signed up for them. I think we have all wanted these channels for a long time and Virgin have done ther best to get them as cheap as possible. Due to OFCOM failing us we only get 2 sports channels but we cant blame virgin for that. Hopefully we will get HD3+HD4 soon but until then we know that a lot of things broadcast on these channels are only upscaled, look at channel 5 there is only neighbours and home and away what are HD, not even the films so im happy to pay for movies and sports.

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
£21! So you're paying £42.50 for Sky HD channels. You really are pushing the boat out for the HD aren't you

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
I've added both sports and movies, for £7pm it makes my bill just on £100pm, if I say it quickly it doesn't seem so bad.
Also hopefully I'll get a £7pm discount for six months, if I sign up to VIP for another year.
