Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
After saying I wouldn't pay the extra for the HD channels I've now signed up
Had a chat with the missus last night and we thought we'd give it a trial for a month to see if it was worth keeping. We bought a new TV about a month ago and have been blown away by the quality of the HD image over our previous set. It's encouraged us to watch a lot more films recently as the picture is so gorgeous to look at. Nothing to lose by trying it out for a month (apart from £7).
Will hopefully be checking out the HD picture tonight if the service has been activated, only signed up online last night.

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
i signed up this morning, hopefully i can have it on by tonight, just a question to the people who signed up online, when you got the confirmation it says you will be contacted within 72 hours by the team, do they actually phone you to confirm you've ordered it?

hi kanedx, no they don't ring you. You will just get another email to tell you're up and running. It shouldn't be long now. . .

Still waiting for my Sky HD channels here in Leeds.
Signed up online a few weeks ago, got confirmation.
Rang yesterday, told there were "very busy".
As of 12pm today, still getting the "not subscribed" message

I had the same problem yesterday, phoned CS at 7pm last night and they said that I had not requested the HD channels, which I had, so they apologied and within the hour I had them on.

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
Wasn't going to bother, but managed to tweak my deal with retentions this morning, who kindly removed my ancient V+ monthly charge of £10 with no need to splash out £49 (I'm on XL), and I binned my extra box for £5 so will be sending that back. retained my 'loyalty discount' so added HD - now have XL TV, L BB, Phone M, V+ and Sky Sports/Movies + HD for £79.99 all in. Very happy with that
And o my the cricket looks good

Re: Who's signed up to sky hd channels?
Well.....I've just signed up for Sky Sports Collection + HD.
Live football is my primary reason for staying on the Pay-TV bandwagon (my secondary reason is HD). Now that ESPN have lost half their EPL games for the next 3 seasons, I couldn't resist doing my bit to help feed those poor Premiership footballers.
I wasn't gonna do it at first. £7 for 2 Sports Channels? Plus another £20.50 on top of that for 4 SD Channels (two of which I'm never gonna watch if I have their HD equivalents). I must be mad.
Then I realised that the £27.50 per month for the Sports channels + HD was still cheaper than me paying by monthly direct debit for a season ticket to watch the City, who weren't exactly entertaining to watch last season (but I'm still looking forward to watching City vs Derby on SS3 ).
It took VM less then a hour to add the channels and I must say, the quality of the picture for the cricket on SS1HD is outstanding.
I may knock my XL broadband down to L just to compensate a bit and save some money. I'll probably leave my XL TV as is thanks to all the HD Basic Channels VM are throwing at us (didn't think I'd be typing that in a year ago! ).
But at least the choice is there now for those who have waited for so long to have Sky Sports HD on Digital Cable, and for those who are able and willing to pay for it .
Looking forward to Red Button too.
