EPG Reminders
Hello All
Love this forum been with virgin for 3 months any problems I have had have been fixed pretty quickly good service with advice and guidance from here.
Was with Sky from the beginning and got used to the following: say I want to watch TV at 9.00pm I would go through the whole guide and set reminders for all the programmes I fancied and then when reminded by the Sky box would then choose which one to watch.
With the Virgin EPG it will not allow me to do this or is there another way to meet my needs
best

You can set reminders on the Virgin TV guide. If you highlight a programme it will say at the bottom of the screen "press OK to set reminder"

Re: EPG Reminders
You can only set one reminder at a time. I'm not aware of anything that would work in the same way that Sky's seems to.

Re: EPG Reminders
Is the OP wanting to set reminders for more than one programme at a particular time(eg 9pm) and when 9pm comes along, to be able to select which one of those to actually watch? With +1 channels, repeats, and catch-up TV, planning gets more complicated.

Well, they are clashes. It allows you to not make a mistake of having more than one channel set. You can then use an external recorder to record that channel. How do you expect to watch 3/4 channels at once? Best to plan ahead with the use of +1 channels, repeats and catch-up TV. The V+ can record 2 channels at one time and allow you to watch a third or view catch-up/on demand.

Re: EPG Reminders
Thank you nomadking but thats the point with the skybox when each channel was set it would allow me to overide the clash and at the appropriate time would cycle through what had been set allowing me to choose which programme I wanted to watch at the time.
A superior planning tool that saved me from going through the EPG at that time.
It is not a mistake. Unfortunately the Virgin EPG is like the nanny state that takes many keystrokes to achieve your needs and with the remote responsiveness being very poor just makes it slightly more difficult to set up my viewing pleasyres.

Wait until the tivo arrives. If reports are correct it will know what you want to watch before you do

Re: EPG Reminders
What I meant to say was that you can only set one reminder for a given time. Yes, you can set as many as you like as long as they are all for different times and days.
