Does sky have similar problems with their boxes? If not i think i will be switching to them once my contract is up.
Sort it out virgin.

This should answer that question. In reality any product can have manufacturing or component batch faults, and often they don't appear until after the product has been in use for some time. Just one of those things.
Rest assured VM and Samsung are working very hard to resolve this problem.

Give VM a call and they will replace the box... hopefully we can get to the bottom of why it's happening very soon.

so virgin media still give these boxes to customers, even though they know there is a fault... genius if i must say.

Well they must still be giving them out as i only got mine 2 weeks ago and this fault as been ongoing for months if what i read on here is true.....!!
Yes the sunday appointment is good but would just prefer to have the box working and not loose what ive recorded on the box!
I was offered a sunday appointment as i'd already had to finish work early on Wednesday for this and again the day after...... Sunday was a cancellation or i'd of had to wait untill Wednesday which would of been over a week since the machine broke down.....

They do if they run out of sa boxes or reconditioned sammys, I suppose the risk of a broken box is better than no box

Yes, that's true...
Most Samsung V+'s are fine though, so nothing to worry about for most... as Spiderplant says, we are working with Samsung to get to the bottom of the fault.

Re: V+ HD Box Won't reset / start properly
Hi I am new to this forum and came accross this thread as I have had the same problem today. Got up this morning the box said 'your digital tv will start shortly'. Left it for about an hour then switched it off at the plug and back on. Now all the box says when you turn it on is 'SToP'. Not impressed at all only had it two weeks. Phoned them this morning and they can't get an engineer to me till Wednesday. Even less impressed.
Tried to plug in an old box from ages ago but that gets stuck on LD:30.
Can anyone recommend a way I can get the old box to work????
Any comments would be most appreciated as I can't cope with 2 kids and no TV until Wednesday!
Cheers

Call after 9am on Monday and the tech quota is updated, so may get earlier appointment.
Have you moved the old box from another room? Is it on your account?
