If it's true it will be a welcome addition to VM.

In deed it does sound promising and it is the first time anyone I know of has been able to to get a confirmation that ESPNA HD is coming to the UK. I will keep my fingers crossed as it will be just in time for the start of the College football season.

I have emailed them back to recheck the information supplied as some of it was from last year when ESPNA was going to close for a few months, but did not due to viewer complaints.

I wouldn't put too much store in that one either. August 3 was when ESPN UK launched so I think that person is also going from the information from that time.

Yes but this was quoted in an official email and was confirmed ESPN America Hd. I'm optimistic. Maybe Media Boy knows something.

I think the CS got it confused with last year's press release which stated ESPN HD would start on 3rd August 2009.

Sorry muppetman11 cannot confirm it but surely this channel will be a no brainer to add to VM HD lineup, especially if mediaboy prediction of 20-30 HD channels by 2011 is to be realised on post 1

Agreed mate being into the US sports I would love to see this. It would also bolster their Sports HD lineup.

It would definitely be a feather in VM's cap if they could get it before Sky do.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010) Vol. II

It is unlikely that we would get this before Sky as, from reports on DS Sky and ESPN are unable to reach an agreement on the carriage of this channel. Rumours are that ESPN want Sky to pick up the tab for bandwidth and Sky are not willing to do this. So until it is on a satellite that can broadcast to the UK (I am guessing this bit are the other countries it broadcast in served by different satellites?)

The email from VM CS is almost certainly a copy and paste job from a standard letter and it has had the name of the channel changed by the CS agent.

Why would that stop ESPNA HD appearing on cable as that has nothing to do with Sky?

Or are you saying that ESPN will only launch it on all formats at the same time?
