V+ box clock

I noticed that whenever I record anything with my V+ box, it is missing several minutes at the beginning of the programme, but extends way into the next one.

When looking at the TV guide, the current time is FOUR minutes behind what it should be.

Does anyone know who is responsible for the timing of this clock please?

The development team are aware of this issue, in the mean time as a work around - reboot the V+ at least once a week.

Many thanks for your reply (also gadge). I'll give this a go, but I must admit I find having to keep rebooting a piece of hardware just so it works properly 'a right pain in the proverbial'

It's only happening to some customers... pressing the reset button on the front once a week while VM sorts it out is the workaround.

Yep - correct. Thanks so much to you all - I've just done a re-boot and this has re-set the clock, so hopefully my recordings will now start and finish when the recorded programme does.

Re: V+ box clock

I've suffered the same problem since my (Samsung) box arrived and timings can still be way off despite rebooting.

I've resorted to adding 5 mins before AND after schedule timings (in the V+ extras option). Has the advantage of allowing for broadcaster variances in timings, too.

The Five channels are a grade one buggeroo for it - at least one in ten recordings starts 5 mins early or ends 5 late!

It also gives you that bit of leeway, when you forget to do the weekly reboot.
