Re: New HD box (non PVR)
I don't know if I should get the V HD box or the V+HD box, I plan on getting the TV M package and then subscribe to ESPN HD for £10 per month.
On the ESPN website it says "Virgin Media customers must have a V+ HD box to receive ESPNHD". Would the normal V HD box be ok to watch this channel?, or is the V+HD box needed for this channel.
Can I get the V HD box with the TV M package?, or would I need to have TV M+?.

When my mother-inlaw took up the V HD Box she had to upgrade to the M+ TV package for an extra £5.50 per month and agree to another 12 month contract the VM TV. However the first 2 months were free. You'll be able to recieved ESPN HD with this box too.

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
Yes, ESPN just haven't updated their website since the V HD box has been released so any HD channel that is available with your package, you will receive. So if you pay for the ESPN package, you will get ESPN HD

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
Had this box installed yesterday, first impressions very good. Outputs both HDMI and Scart at same time so you can feed 2 TVs easily, I myself have HDMI to the TV and Scart to Phono adapter with my A1 Amp.
Very speedy like the Samsung boxes. I got the big V+ remote which came in the same Cisco box as the box did strangely enough, and this has obselete buttons named V+, Record etc and when these are pressed an advert for V+ pops up - already have a SA box downstairs though.
I have found the box rebooting itself when trying to start an On Demand programme whilst being tuned into a HD channel, as others have reported but hopefully this will be fixed soon.
Overall, very please and I got it for just £15, on VIP.

Confirmed in the Q1 earnings call.
Also, confirmed that the V HD box is Tivo capable by a software download IF they decide to go that way.
New Tivo V+ box will be launched.
So looks like my prediction that the current STBs other than the V HD won't be getting it was spot on.

I have been told that there is a software update for this and it will be put through the next time they update the box.
There is a work round for this just enter on demand via SD channels and everything works fine.

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
called virgin up today and got the VHD for £29 with engineer install, was offered the V+ for the same but chose the VHD as I feel it is future proof whereas I feel the V+ will not carry the Tivo software.
I only got this price because I was at the end of a 12 month contract, and I upgraded to V.I.P too, very happy with Virgin Media today, first NGTV update then this.

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
The V HD box update to solve the problem with On Demand from HD channels seems to have been implemented as ours seems to work OK from this morning.
