Re: New HD box (non PVR)
Yes, I've tried everything and it's all a-OK and faster than the SA V+box in the other room.
I haven't tried on demand movies to the extent where you have to pay for them.
The default PIN was 0000

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
Anybody know how to turn off the audio descriptions on these things?
I have changed the settings for the AD to off yet it still has them on some programs (namely the ones on e4hd), anyone got any advice?

If they have one then they can replace an additional V Box for £49 IF they have any, if you don't have an additional V+ then I doubt it would be able to be cabled by a fault technician.

The engineer will only fix or replace the box he has been booked for and will not replace any other standard box in your property with a V+ or one of the new HD boxes as it would not work on your account as it would not be provisioned to work.
If you want your standard box replaced with a V+ or an HD box then you will need to call up and order the box of your choice.

Sorry but this is not strictly true (see my reply on page 36 of this thread) a tech on a service call can replace your sd box with a V HD box but he will have to make acouple of phone calls to set it up.

According to that post you are still going to be billed £49 for the replacement which is not a direct swap, as I said they will not swap a standard box for a V+ or a HD box unless you pay for one to be fitted.

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
Sorry the way I read your post I thought you meant a tech could not swap the box for a new one without a seperate booking, which he can but you will obviously be charged for it as you are changing your account.

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
So my box arrived today. Swapped it out, activation failed. Called faults, they can see a fault and now an engineer is scheduled for Wednesday morning. To top that, they've billed me £15 for quick start too, so much or free in April!

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
That's not too bad though an engineer for Wednesday after ringing them today. They'll credit the £15, just a minor error when processing the order evidently
