It will output the menus over SD and HD as far as I'm aware.
And just like the Samsung V+HD box there is no RF

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
I downloaded the pic zoomed it I noticed there is USB connector
Which is interesting possibility is maybe it has capability to TURN itself into a PVR with the Tivo software and purchase of portable hardrive. One way getting round people request to HDD upgrade put whatever size yourself on.
Obvious depends on sony allowing use of USB rather than locking the option out.

Can't see why not. Remember though if you hit the mini guide and/or EPG it would show up on the recording

Unfortunately I have done that, switching between channels while the adverts were on remote control did not respond, decided to respond 30secs later when the program started

Hi Ben, I'm very interested in this new box, I currently have an 'XL plus' installation with a v+ box downstairs & an ordinary V box upstairs.
- please could you give me an idea, cost-wise, of the implications of swapping the upstairs V box for the new Cisco one?
I've just ordered a 'full HD' monitor with HDMI, DVI & VGA inputs that should cope with the HD feed, so any info you can add regarding potential cost for the 'swap' will be gratefully received
---------- Post added at 00:59 ---------- Previous post was at 00:36 ----------
I'm assuming existing DVI for the pc & HDMI for the Cisco box will work - I also have an HDMI switch box to try for the media player I linked earlier - happy days

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
As the box hasn't been officially launched yet, I can't confirm any addition box prices yet (just in case they change anything)
As soon as it goes live on Monday I will be able to

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
I am hoping I can just buy the replacement HD box and swap it out for my SD box and pay the same price that I am paying on my VIP Package!

That's pretty much what i'm hoping as well, except maybe for two boxes (VIP + a third STB).

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
Hi,
Do you think we should have a FAQ page for this new HD box, similar to the V+ FAQ page in the Television Services Information section of this site click here

Re: New HD box (non PVR)
The press release concerning this box has a very interesting sentence:
Quote:
|
The Cisco-made box is 3D-ready and includes HDMI, SCART, USB and Ethernet ports to make the most of any digital home cinema experience.
|
They've got to be planning to make use of the usb and ethernet ports to make a point of mentioning them?
