New Smart card areas channel changes
Just seen this on the VM customer forum so as it's quite important I suggest anyone who's been sent a new smart card reads it
http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...yet/td-p/14440
The older signals start getting switched off from today to allow the start of the new services next year, so if you haven't swapped your smart card yet you will lose stuff

Re: Virgin media possibly getting serious on dodgy boxes?
Has this been posted yet? New VM card instructions : http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Wn3tfH-WYkM#t=41
Linked to the pop-out version since some of the comments are a bit icky and NSFW.

If you are in the Leeds, Harrogate or York areas and think you need a new smartcard please head to http://www.virginmedia.com/lostchannels/ and check our frequently asked questions (FAQ).
If you’re not in one of the regions listed, don’t panic, everyone will be getting a new smartcard. We’ll be going around the country region by region as we upgrade our TV service, and we’ll be in touch by post when it’s your turn. In the meantime, don’t worry there won’t be any changes to your TV service until that time.

Re: New Smart card areas channel changes
Have they switched all the channels off in one go or are they just switching off so many channels at a time to see what happens?

As per the link above

Customers in the Leeds, Harrogate or York should have already received their new cards and it’s important your old card is swapped out as soon as possible. Over the next few days, in the regions listed, we’ll be turning off some of the older TV signals on our network so if you haven’t swapped the card yet, please do so as soon as you can to ensure an uninterrupted service.
|
I think it will be a few at first to wake up those that have not inserted there new cards and then all after it has been confirmed to be working ok.

Re: New Smart card areas channel changes
Is there a list of planned dates for region roll outs?
There was on when the 20meg was roled out.
