problems - prob simple but that always the way?

I have had v+ installed today. I did want to wait for more content but with espn showing prem games I figured I'd go for it now. Got home, checked out the connections and they've supplied us with a scart! thought they would have done that - cheapskates! I switched to an hdmi that I had spare, changed the settings to full hdmi hd 1080 and everything looks good.

My concern is though that the screen ratios on a lot of the channels seem to be very small. Is there any way around this. For example BBC1 is full screen whereas MTV 1 looks as though it's 16:1, which looks naff on the big tele.

Any help would be great

PS - I have taken the scart out - perhaps I should run that as well?

Nah you aint an idiot, some people prefer the normal 1080 but I use 1080wide cause I like to take advantage of the full screen.
