Re: can i extend cable?

If you extend it yourself be aware that you are breaking your T&C's and also altering the length of the cable will effect your signal levels due to varying the attenuation of the run.

I understand what you say, but this is "as I read it" only a temporary measure while work is being done.It would surprise me if anyone had Virign out to extend cable in these circumstances.

Re: can i extend cable?

You can get a cheap 10m extension cable from Argos which if it's only temporary it wont do much harm. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...lite+extension

Re: can i extend cable?

Even 10m (especially if it's cheap cable) can effect the signals, but there's probably no harm in trying it, if it effects the signal then just put it back how it was.

If it does effectthe signal then only an engineer can vary the signal to compensate for cable attenuation.
