My TV is set on the HDMI slot for the V+ box. However i have switched the box onto scart yesterday but never changed the channel form hdmi. When i switched the box on today it was on the hdmi slot so i was expectign to have to change to scart on the tv but nope the box loaded up with hdmi but as 576i

Weird, I always thought it was either scart or hdmi, perhaps it's bug in the software?

Re: Possible unknown feature

I think was part of a software update. Loads of people were setting their tv wrong and having to call because of a blank screen.

If on an AV channel and you plug a HDMI cable in it tells you about the connection and tells you how to set it up. If on HDMI channel and you plug a cable in it defaults to 576i and a picture is present on both HDMI and scart. Once HDMI is set up correctly the scart channel is blank. If you just remove the HDMI cable I believe the scart becomes default.

Nope, if the V+ is in HDMI and you remove the HDMI lead to use scart, you will get no picture. You have to manually select the scart option in the settings to revert, or do the front panel voodoo.

Re: Possible unknown feature

You mention a software update - my whole system just went blank and won't respond, reboot, etc. it is alleged to be brand new and the helpline can't tell me if there is an area fault- they have promised an engineer within the week!

My TV just went down to net light flashing which isnt unusual lately had to reboot to get connection again after about 10 minuted with no connection. Wondering if this was some dodgy box hit cuz my modem went down yesterday and opinion is it may have been victim of a cloner and both macs got hit
