Ex Telewest Control has Died need code for LG TV control

Hi

I am new to the forum, I have a an ex Telewest now virgin media box, I believe a Pace 2001. Basically the remote control stopped working a while back, it is the old blue one with a green tip, I have tried new batteries etc. It has not really been a problem except as we can change the channel using the front panel. But recently I have tried to watch some of the VOD stuff and obviously I need to punch in my pin, which I cannot do without a control.

I bought one from ebay, but it is the newer 4001? control so does not work with my unit. I have also just bought 2 more from tesco, one if there tecnica value 2in 1 and the other is a one for all 3 in one, however none of these say that they will work with cable......and they don't!!

Then I have now noticed that my LG lcd tele remote has a button on it saying cable, but there is not a code listed for Pace.

So I am wondering if anyone could either:

let me know the code for the LG tele remote to work with the Pace Virgin media box

or

figure out how the more modern controller for virgin media may work with the older box

or

tell me how either of the tescos boxes may work with the box

or let me know how I can get a new remote in the next 6 days without having to waste too much more cash.

thanks

Why not give customer services a bell, if your old remote has died they will replace it...free of charge.

If you were charged that means they determined you'd done something to break the STB
Replacement remotes are sent in the post, I don't think there's any way for them to tell whether your old one died due to old age or misuse.
