Unhappy Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

According to Virgin Media's FAQ last week:

Will these Sky channels be available for analogue viewers?
Sky1 and Sky News will be available in some areas
including Londonderry, Milton Keynes and Westminster.

analogue cable customers in Milton Keynes should have got Sky One back but as of yesterday we only had Sky News. Has anyone got any info on if we will get Sky One as I really miss 24 and was hoping to watch the trailer and new series?

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

Sky1 appears to be on in some of the other analogue areas as there was a thread about it yesterday.

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

I would raise it as fault on 0845 454 1111 option 3.

BTW can you post what it says on your bill?

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

You might need to be on the top Analogue package for that one.

Nothing seems to have been re-added here in Leicester either.

I will presume that to be either a joke in very bad taste, or a comment made out of ignorance. Have you seen how few channels are now left in area's like this that are still analogue only ? Besides I / we had these channels before sky withdrew them.

I think what he is sayong is that Sky 1 is only available to XL customers, which is the top tier.

In Leicester the Sky channels are digital cable only

---------- Post added at 17:49 ---------- Previous post was at 17:48 ----------

The Sky channels are only back on analogue in Milton Keynes, Westminster (London) and Londonderry (Northern Ireland). This is because those areas are 100% analogue cable

You could try calling 0800-952-0345, I think this is the customer service number specifically for Westminster and Milton Keynes, however you will need to call after 8am and before 5pm as its not the same as main Virgin Media customer service line. Its a freephone number so you wont be charged any extra for the call.

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

Not really. Leciester is a Digital cable area, so if they want the Sky channels they should swap

WRONG !

A large chunk of Leicester is STILL analogue only. Believe me if I could swap I would. Nobody in their right mind would remain on analogue, given the very limited number of channels now on analogue.

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

Indeed, parts of LE2 (and others) are analogue and BB only.

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

Sorry. Didn't realise. Same as Southampton then (which also hasn't got Sky back on analogue)

The networks that serve Milton Keynes, Londonderry and Westminster are ONLY analogue (no Digital TV bits at all), which is why it has been put back on there

I assume the Leciester analogue headend also covers the digital areas. It might even have something to do with the 50Mbit service.

Re: Sky One Not Back in Milton Keynes

Hi all,
Milton Keynes is analogue only.
Just (Jan 7th 2009) called VM customer services - they said Sky 1 is only on digital and not coming back on analogue.
I had a laugh when he said they are going to upgrade everyone to digital by 2012.
No-one is going to recable the whole of MK are they ?
Regards,
