They've removed UK GOLD
and made it XL subscription only.
Oh well, phone them up and tell them you're going to Sky and they'll give you the XL for the same price.

Re: They've removed UK GOLD
Sounds like they may have used UKTV's channel launches and re-brands as an excuse to mess about with their packages.
The 'new' GOLD doesn't have the same remit or programme line up as the 'old' UKTV Gold. Apparently it's comedy only, now. It's a bit of a tenuous reason to make it a top-rate premium channel on VM though, if that is indeed what they've done.

UK GOLD has been split into G.O.L.D. and Watch.
Comedy is now on the G.O.L.D. one, and the entertainment is now on the Watch one. which is only available on the XL.

Thought not.

You did say 'a conspiracy in every post' ... there's more than one way to read that. Plus, Gary's OP didn't really outline any sort of conspiracy, he simply noted a package change and suggested a possible course of action.

I'd keep an eye on him Chris, no doubt he's on the trouble maker and Gary's stalker list again

I don't like the giant size logo on the TV screen. I already know what channel i'm watching because it tells me on the program guide and with the number on my V+ box.

Re: They've removed UK GOLD
Flextech in general have very low standards as far as viewing quality is concerned. Apart from horrible logos, the horrible scheduling (endless runs of the same 20 or so programs) on all their 'classic TV' channels, the intrusive Filmflex advert on OD, too many adverts, extra sponsorship etc etc. UKGold was originally free to air on satellite and only went encrypted on Sky to stop foreign viewing. Given that they should all be free on any package, they're getting the advertising income and that should be enough considering WE already paid for the production of the majority of their programs in our license fee.
