Re: Analogue Cable Switch Off Starts
With the analogue switch off, does this means that we can get HD channels?

How many analogue areas are left, it seems a devilishly slow process. Also will the final switch off give VM much more bandwidth required for broadcasting linear HD channels

Re: Analogue Cable Switch Off Starts
The answer to bandwidth is 'Yes'. The answer to whether this will happen will be down to the contract negotiators from the media companies and VM.

Re: Analogue Cable Switch Off Starts
if your an analogue sufferer in the bolton area (this includes postcodal areas BL1/BL3/BL4/M28/M38) you will be pleased to know that your network is being upgraded to receive digital cable signals, this should be complete by the end of summer..happy days!!

They dnt need to swithc analogue to have the bandwidth they have enoguh to launch 10-12 hd channels jsut now if the contratcs where signed but if they wanted to launch the 30 odd hd channels on sky they need the bandwidht from analogue switch off

Re: Analogue Cable Switch Off Starts
The Cable London franchise covering Camden,Islington,Hackney,Harringey and Enfield still has Analogue, maybe this will be the last to be turned off as there is a specific Greek channel Hellenic TV which is exclusive to this Cable franchise but not available on Sky.

Re: Analogue Cable Switch Off Starts
Nottingham will STILL be analogue? I regret moving back to Lowestoft now.....
