I agree the Teletext is Far better on Analog than digital Teletext.
They should switch off the digital and leave the Analog.

There seems to be a timetable, but it looks like Coventry and Glasgow first.

Faster broadband and more channels will be cool !

Analogue Switch-off can't come soon enough - lots of extra hannels and services are bound to follow

why can't they just turn off the analogue carriers next weekend ( except for those areas where they only have analogue - ?parts of Southampton & London

Nothing to do with this thread...Virgin Media owns the network so they can do the switch off whenever they like. (Or not as the case may be)

Freeview cannot carry analogue teletext. Both cable and satellite can and do on some channels.

However, BBC and ITV analogue teletext will completely disappear by 2012, in any case.

Re: VM start analogue switch off!

Hi. Can someone who is served by Wythenshawe head-end (Manchester), post a full list of the ANALOGUE channel numbers, 4-letter IDs and chanel names as they currently stand? (Not to be confused with the Bolton one wihc is different).

I used to have tis on a Jerrold box when it was Nynex. I only changed in2001 when we got broadband - and in those days it was 300k!

Thanks for your help.
