ntl pace box er20

hi guys, every so often when i turn my box on i get the error code ER20 on the box and cant do anything with it. i try unplugging the cables and checking connections but i've no idea if i'm looking in the right area. can anyone tell me what this code means and where to start trying to fix it?

after a random period of time the box seams to start working. but the error code
is coming up more often and i get the feeling one day it wont go away.
