Re: Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky
I think that the entire board at VM should resign, this dispute has been going on for over a year, and not once have they thought about the consumer, Even if VM paid Sky, £60 MILLION for the contract, it would be US, that pays in the end, they are now going to waste MILLIONS of pounds taking Sky to court over what, VM arguments are that Sky are dominating the TV market, total rubbish, VM won't, you cannot even use the red button, due to a dispute - yes, with Sky, Sky can produce more channels, more programming, better technogoly, and better services, at the moment VM can only show ONE HD channel, whereas Sky can produce these more and more, l believe that who ever buys VM, will say, right, l will give you £600million, and we will bring in our own people, for once, will VM think of the people that pays there wages, and stop playing court room dramas, as it is getting on my nerves. It was worked out when this whole thing started, that it would cost £1.50 PER MONTH extra to get the channels back, l would pay it, wouldn't you.

Never.
The Sky basics are old and tired and i for one do not want to see Virgin waste any money on them. If you want Sky One that bad, bloody well MOVE to Sky. I for one am sick and tired of all the crying over a bloody channel. Please for those that think they cannot live without the Simpson channel MOVE and then the rest of us can get on with the real issues in life.
Flame away i don't give a hoot .

Re: Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky
I could not agree more, with the comments made about VM, and that talks have stalled, again, but my main concern is, that IF, VM doesn't want them, why the hell are they going to waste our money in going to court, we are hearing all the time on this forum, people are asking the same question, over and over again, 'when are the basics coming back' why don't we get a statement from VM, stating this fact, as we pay subs to VM, we should be advised, we should also be told, WHY is VM going to spend OUR money in going to court, l spoke to an engineer TODAY, and he cannot wait, to be taken over, as he gets all his orders by TEXT, but there is something going on. Thats my lot talking about it, whats next, to talk about.

Re: Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky
you know - for the most part, the loss of the sky channels hasn't been a huge issue - however I am occassionally given cause to vent when Sky shows something I want to watch - e.g. The Colour of Magic.
So I hear you shout - MOVE TO SKY
well I can't. I live in rented housing and my landlord won't allow a sky dish so I can choose either cable or freeview and since none of the aerial sockets in the house work if I want freeview, its an indoor aerial so I'm stuck with VM. to that extent I wish they would bring back sky and yes I would pay an extra £1.50 if I had to

You could have tiscali tv they have Sky one.
http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/tv...ode=ZZ-NL-12WK
And get your landlord to fix the sockets. Thats what you pay rent for. ?

You have had a statement from VM when they got rid of the channels. As i said if its that much of a problem for you look at other options.

VM have no intention in my opinion of getting back channels that are losing customers month after month.
I personally have far more important events in my life than getting upset over a bunch of crappy channels.

Well good for you ... but it's not old ground it's new information that some people may find interesting and useful...
oh and if you "have far more important events" going on and think that they are " a bunch of crappy channels" why on earth are you reading a thread entightled Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky?

Because i decided to have a look. I then found it was the same FEW that have been asking the same question every time they get bored.
Get over it , most of us have moved on and found better things to watch than the Simpson's every 2 or 3 hours every night.
The Sky basics have gone. They might come back, there again they might not, Have you ever wondered whether VM can afford them any more or that they ever want them again. ????

Re: Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky
It seems obvious to me
If Virgin Media TV customers want the SKY tv channels, then let them pay £1.50 per month extra for them.
Those that dont want them dont pay.
(Just please dont elect me in anyway, aka phorm)
Its all about Choice!

Re: Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky
I'm not that bothered about Sky or any other channel for that matter. I just like some programs on some channels. I like watching LOST and STARGATE ATLANTIS, but stick these on another channel or something and i'd watch them on that. BTW i'm happy with my V+ box and can't see me changing.

Re: Virgin Media in talks over bringing back Sky
Im guessing that with new people doing the negotiations there might be agreement but i have a feeling that if there is agreement it will be one that brings sky's hd channels as well as the basic channels.
This will give both sides a way to say that the price is now right because there is more channels involved.
With Freesat now launched both sky and virgin have a common cause to fight and an agreement will help with that.
