Customer Services Part ???

Was talking to a friend at the pub last night who was telling of his latest VM Customer Services experiance.
He had a call asking if he would like to pay off any of his bill using his credit card, strange he thought as his monthly bill is already paid via direct debit. So he said no thank you. He was then told that if he did not make a payment for his NEXT bill (due 15th May) they would cut off his service. So again he said no, his next bill would be paid at the appropriate time when the bill is received and hung up. His service was duly cut.
The following day he recieved another phone call from a different customer services rep who apologised and explained that the previous caller should not of acted in the way he did but could not (or wouldnt) explain why the call was made in the first place. This caller then went on to ask if my friend would like to make a payment off his next bill!!!

I wont bother writing what was said next but SKY got themselves a new subscriber the next day.

You couldnt make it up!

I hope the waiting list with SKY is not to long! .

How strange?

You certainly couldn't make it up.

Are you sure the callers were VM and not some scammers trying it on?

Your friend ASSUMED these people were from Virgin Media and cancelled his service!

Did he phone Virgin Media to enquire as to whether these people were from Virgin Media?

the fact that they were able to cut his service as they said they would should tell you all you need to know.
The fact that his account was paid up to date and that they could confirm this over the phone should tell you all you need to know.

Of course unless vm have sold all our details to another party and got them to start cold calling?

If vm were refing a football match I am sure we would all be singing "you dont know what your doing" or quite possibly "whose the w*&ker in the black"

Many a true word spoken in jest.

VM seem so desperate they would probably try to sell anything they thought might raise a few pennies.

A service could be easily cut off with a pair of pliers.

This could easily be a scam.

Re: Customer Services Part ???

Although Virgin will make outbound calls if there is an overdue balance or high usage on the account, I have never heard of a customer being phoned one day and then phoned the next with someone apologising for the first call!!?
