Well if you can live with it that's your prerogative. However you can't then later complain if you find someone cloning from your service and you end up paying the bill can you, because in your rule book it's not a crime.

The fact is the law makes no distinction between stealing cars or cable tv,a stick of chewing gum or Nike trainers. It's all theft.
You clearly have not read every post in this thread. You really are an ignorant woman arn't you Incognitas. And there was I thinking you were one of the educated members of CF. I suggest you go back to the begining of this thread and slowly read through ALL the posts.

The OP has made me curious as to why he feels he needs to inform the authorities about his neighbour and not also, inform them of (what would be a more successful outcome IMO) the people who supply the boxes. Doesn't that make more sense? Which leads me to feel that he has something more against his neighbour other than him getting away with free tv, and yet nothing against the criminals who are doing more damage by providing god knows how many boxes to whoever wants one.

Don_1 I wish you well regardless of what you may or may not do.

Rubbish - I suggest you go and study the Wikipedia entry, entitled 'Crimestoppers'.

As for some of the other posters in this thread - The level of immaturity is absolutely ridiculous - if we cannot have a civil, sensible and grown up debate about this issue - the thread will close.

What's illegal in buying a Eurovox and hack it until it turns blue? or red VM colours?

Selling NTl boxes is illegal. Selling any other boxes is absolutely legal, hacking them is legal too. Connecting to the NTL network is illegal.

So the dealer is fine, provided that he did not sell VM boxes or he did not do the hooking of the box...

Re: Illegal Cable Box

Ok let's not beat around the bush - someone isn't going to sell a untouched and unmodified cable box for people to just use as ornaments.

The box will be hacked, modified and who knows what else. Some of you here are just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Of course, what else to do on a boring afternoon in the office, or in the middle of the night, when there is nothing interesting on the tv....(and if you have virgin tv, this is most of the time )
