After reading this i can not belive the techs thought the box was ok when the V+ box had a IP and the amount of time it took to find the fault I wonder if the techs that attended worked for VM or a contractor as VM are using a lot of contractors to do faults in some areas .But if you have 3 calls in a row for the same fault the snr/ principal tech should attend

i don't understand your point here as the box being OK was the correct assumption.
The box got an ip address when attached to a different input which indicates all is well with it.

What i was saying is that you have 2 boxes in the house one gets a ip one does not .So this to me would tell me that the splitter is faulty or the feed to that box has a fault on it .This should of been picked up by the first tech .
