V+ online flashinf

I got my V+ box today and very nice it is too. Just a couple of questions. Every now and then the Online indicator has a quick flash. Is this normal? Also if a have to, how do i do a forced software update?

Re: V+ online flashinf

It means it is not connected and you will not get on demand.

Look in settings>tech stuff. Is th ereturn path on or off, is there an IP address?

I have a return path and an IP. On demand is working fine. It only flashes once every now and then.

When it is flashing it means it has no return path and is searching.

you can only do a forced software download when the software is there to be downloaded, even then they send the software 3 different ways to accomodate what stage the boxes may be in.V+ has just had the latest code drop (UK3) where they are still piloting it on the standard V box. so youll never have to worry yourself over receiving any software.

My 'Online' light flashed regularly while I had signal problems - since VM fixed it I've only ever seen on fixed on.

Re: V+ online flashinf

You will never need it. By doing it you are just risking breaking the box or losing your recordings, so don't go there!
