How can I get a new V+ remote quickly?

Our remote for the TV Drive/V+ box has conked out, meaning I can't record or anything that isn't doable by the buttons on the front of the box.

I phoned 151 and the lady in India said it would take 14 days to get one sent to me. That's ridiculous and we shouldn't have to wait that long at all. She would/could not, though, put me through to anyone in this country so I could ask about picking one up (I am local to the offices in Stockton).

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get one quickly?

Thanks.

eBay or Amazon would be your best bet then or any online store, however Amazon is the cheapest for Sky remotes for example. i ordered some scart leads & 100 DVD+Rs on wednesday (from two different websites) & they were all with me on thursday, they did say that they can take upto three days so i was well impressed when they took 24 hours :o)

I think they say 14 days to cover their own backs as they are posted by royal mail so possibly subject to delays.

I ordered one a few months ago and was delivered 4 days later

Yep, Sky state the same type of lead time on routers as they use parcelforce. It just means if anything goes wrong that they have a window of oppurtunity to track the despatch and sort it out.

You should be able to record. The record button is the one with the circle on in the left-hand cluster. The only thing I can think of that you can't do from the front panel is to enter the PIN.

If you have a remote for a standard box, you can also use this to control the V+.
