Problem with stb
Hi all
We have virgin media tv through a pace stb.
No problems untill we got a Panasonic Viera plasma tv.
Now the stb changes channels, displays subtitles, brings the interactive screen up etc of its own accord!
We had an V engineer out, who informed us it was the tv emitting signals on the same frequency as our Pace stb & a Samsung stb would eliminate our problems, as it ops on a different frequency & they would source us one if the stb continued to have the problems.
Does this sound about right to you guys?

Re: Problem with stb
Well I've heard tales of energy saving light bulbs doing something similar, so it's plausible.

Re: Problem with stb
Thanks for the replies.
VM been today & swapped boxes, we now have a new samsung box ;-)
Much faster than the Pace box & so far no more menu's popping up.
Was looking through the techy menu & it has a part that is labeled credit & it says £105.00
What is this bit for?

It is the amount you are 'allowed' to spend on premium content, such as filmflex, in a month. It gets re-set when you pay your bill.
I believe it is there to stop subscribers (or their family ... ) running up too large a bill

Re: Problem with stb
Hi i switched on my set top box about 30mins ago and it continuously runs through a sequence.
its says eaas, err4, lait, ldpd, pace, ntl, not in this order, it also runs through every channel really quickly with the three led lights flashing beside the numbers.
have tried switching it on and off, it is an ntl pace box. i read somewhere that it maybe updating and to leave it for a while??
help help help

Re: Problem with stb
It is likely that the box has died. Virgin don't generally do updates in the afternoon, and, AFAIK, haven't upgraded their software on any box in at least a month.
Also, I believe err4 is displayed when the memory in the box is faulty.
